Emirates will from next week operate 60 weekly flights to Pakistan as demand for the airline’s shortest routes increases.
While demand for long-haul travel is still very low and not expected to recover for months, Dubai-based Emirates is increasing its operations to and from one of its most popular destinations.
A large portion of Dubai’s expat population consists of Pakistanis and many are beginning to travel again to visit family or go home from the UAE after losing their jobs because of coronavirus.
From 10 August, Emirates will fly to over 70 destinations within its network, well over half of its pre-pandemic network size.
The airline will also ramp up its flight frequency to Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and Sialkot in Pakistan. All flights will be operated with the Emirates Boeing 777-300ER.
Emirates will operate 28 weekly flights to Karachi, 10 weekly flights to Islamabad, seven weekly flights to Sialkot, 10 weekly flights to Lahore and five weekly flights to Peshawar.
Travellers will only be accepted on the flights if they comply with the eligibility and entry criteria requirements.
